Great musicians are who they are because of life-changing meetings with certain people, and much less because of what they did. I always loved the story of how Paganini virtuoso-rised Liszt, and thus the birth of La Campanella on both the piano and violin. Sometimes I wonder if Prof. KG would end up being my Paganini. Albeit not in a classical music way but if he hadn't been around I'd probably already be walking down another path from the previous fork in the road. Then - where's this road taking me?
